Rosanne Olson is a photographer, artist and educator. She has taught for more than 25 years at PCNW in Seattle, as well as at workshops and conferences including Santa Fe Workshops, WPPI, PDN Expo, Creative Live and various high school and college programs as a guest instructor. She is also past-president of the Northwest Chapter of ASMP.
Rosanne's educational background includes an undergraduate degree in science and a master's degree in journalism from the University of Oregon, where she also studied fine art photography. Her career has included five years at The Register-Guard in Eugene, Oregon and 30 years in advertising/portrait photography. Her images have garnered many awards including nine times in Communication Arts annuals and more than a dozen times in Graphis photography annuals. Her work has also been featured in Communication Arts, Photo District News, More Magazine, View Camera Magazine and others.
She is the author of three books including This is Who I Am--our beauty in all shapes and sizes (a book about women and body image) which was featured on Good Morning America. She has written two text books about photography (Amherst Media) for the courses she teaches: ABCs of Beautiful Light and The Art of the Portrait.
